UK Hikes Bank Levy
Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has announced an increase in the rate of the bank levy to be charged in 2011. This change will increase the revenue from the levy in 2011 by GBP800m to GBP2.5bn. The levy is also to be made permanent.

A new report by the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research has pointed out that, while, at 35%, the United States’ statutory federal

US also has higher-than-average effective average and effective marginal tax rates.
