US Pass-Throughs Pay Lower Taxes: Report
A new report has pointed out that US "pass-through" entities, including
partnerships, whose income is taxed at their owners' individual income tax rates,
paid an average tax rate of only 19 percent in 2011, compared with almost 32 percent
paid by companies subject to corporate tax.
House Committee Passes Obamacare Reconciliation Bill
On September 29, the US House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee passed
a "reconciliation" bill to repeal core parts of the Affordable Care
Act, including the individual and employer mandates, the medical device
tax, and the "Cadillac" tax.
